            Quoting the Vancouver Province:

Location: The address for the Empire Centre is at 4540 No. 3 Rd., Richmond, but the complex is made up of two other buildings at 4580 and 4600 No. 3 Rd. It’s located near Bridgeport Station (Canada Line) and backs onto Hazelbridge Way where there is also an entrance and exit.

                          • (i bet you can do this with a local model so you don't have to destroy the environment more with a cloud model)
                          • It's 2026 you still need to learn SQL to do basic queries if you work with data Maybe by 2030 local models will be so good you won't have to?

                            • I would encourage Filipinos worldwide not to gate keep & judge the accents of Perlah, Princess & Trinity on The Pitt. I've known immigrants who lost their ability to speak in <2 years, others who still have an accent after 20 years, & others who seamlessly switch between English & their Filipino language(s) in the middle of a sentence even after 20 years. Fluency is prismatic not a binary switch :-) Of course it's not just Filipinos! It happens to German, French speaking immigrants, etc
                            • And I've never met a Filipino born in the USA or Canada who speaks any Filipino languages fluently but that's because I am old :-) and there weren't many Filipino kids I met growing up in small town Ontario, Canada in the 70s and 80s. There are many such people now and for at least the last 20 years in Toronto, Vancouver and California and probably everywhere else there are lots of us :-)

                                  • Installed Rogers 5G Home Internet Ultimate plan, my upload speed has gone up 1500% (from less than 1Mb/s to 15MB/s or more on Telus's antiquidated DSL service). I want Telus Fiber but not available because accountants (?!?) see linked cosocial.ca thread :-) * Rogers 5G Home Internet * cosocial.ca thread (no dis-respect to accountants and other financial 'engineers' :-) ):

do you remember fixed wireless access from the 90s and 2000s at Nortel? Neither do I :-) It's 2026 so I have Rogers 5G Home Internet and it's upload speed is 10x my Telus DSL. Apparently, Telus won't turn on their fiber until their accountants tell them to for our 1995 10 unit condo (by 2030?) and I can't have both Shaw and Telus because my condo only has 1 wire (it's supposed to have both by law but reasons?!?!). So I bought this service on a lark :-) since there's no contract.

Sounds like it's time to switch to Shaw cable internet which has the same upload speed. I call Telus every year and ask about fiber but I'm fed up waiting for them to turn it on :-) My neighbours in a brand new 4 plex across the street have Telus fiber so it's ready, just need to flip a switch or so I am told by Telus contractors :-) but accountants or something :-)

I have been told conflicting stories about Telus fiber IRL at Telus's store and also by Filipino :-) call centre agents in the Philippines and by Telus contractors who installed the fiber that goes to all of the newly built residential buildings on my block . Oh brother :-)

And I am 100% sure that Telus fiber if/when I get it, will be a lot better than Rogers or Shaw or Fixed Wireless Access from Rogers or Fido but I'm fed up waiting :-) and calling yearly. I've called once year since at least 2018 LOL

@tedmielczarek "fiber to the curb" is our situation not "fiber to the riser" is what i believe what we called it in the Nortel days (I worked there for 13 years!!!)

                                          QUOTE

The Nebo app (and general stylus) support on the Boox Go 7 II (or Go Color 7 Gen II) is considered decent for casual note-taking and annotating, but it is not as precise or "paper-like" as Boox’s higher-end Note series. It uses USI 2.0 technology rather than Wacom EMR, which affects the writing feel and accuracy. Here is the breakdown of the stylus experience based on user reports and reviews:

                                          Performance and Feel

                                          • Decent Responsiveness: The writing experience is generally responsive, but there is a slight, detectable lag between the pen tip and the screen, which can be frustrating for heavy users.
                                          • "Tappy" Writing Feel: The screen is glass, resulting in a slippery, "tappy" feeling without much resistance. Using a screen protector can improve this feel.
                                          • Accuracy: Precision is not as high as on Wacom-based devices, which may lead to missed strokes or inaccuracies if writing very quickly or in small font.
                                          • Best Use Case: It is best suited for quick notes, highlighting, and sketching rather than long-form, heavy writing session

Not to mention the Philippines hidden sophisticated bread culture which has been overshadowed by overly sweet ensaymada (haha thanks USA influenced sweet obsession :-) )

It's just that people (the diaspora and the ones living in the Philippines) don't actually know beyond the common place and the cliche. Perhaps because it takes a lot of time and it's expensive to to check it out in the USA and Canada (and in the Philippines). There's way more to Filipino baking than just ensaymada, hopia, pan de sal etc etc. Check out Panaderia: Philippine Bread, Biscuit and Bakery Traditions by Jenny Orillos and Amy Uy (https://www.facebook.com/panaderiaph/) to learn all about it. It's not all overly sweet or bland. It's that :-) and everything marvelously in between.

Cities aren't going away despite pundits and their dreams :-) of self driving cars (which we don't need and won't work; we already have public transit, trains and buses) and food delivery.

The DH is fine anywhere: suburbia, urban core, etc because everything comes to them & is built for them so it doesn't matter where they live. Since the 1918 pandemic, pundits have been wrongly predicting the demise of cities. Wrong then, wrong now :-)

Renewable, green energy which provides jobs and super large infrastructure projects instead of the same old same old oil and gas projects (I am OK with being honest and saying we need some oil and gas projects for a very limited time and here is our clear and actionable roadmap and plan to get off of oil and gas. Two ideas I can hold in my head simultaneously). And it goes with saying climate change is the number one issue for all humans! And it's not a zero sum game in fact it's win win. Let’s take a moment here. Whether or not Vince Gilligan meant to evoke the pandemic with this show, this is a show carrying a lot of psychic COVID baggage. The show begins with misused PPE, animal transmission/lab leak (pick your theory!), and the inversion of early pandemic measures.

Rather than social distancing, these characters immediately begin kissing on the mouth. To me- and I’d guess, many other COVID cautious individuals, the invaded personal space and licked donuts evoke people’s continued insistence that they have the right not to isolate and mask while infected with COVID.

What’s mine is yours, what’s yours is mine.

Rather than swab to prevent the spread of disease, they swab to further it. And while to many this may feel like a far-fetched, sci-fi premise, for those of us living with Long COVID, it does in fact feel that most people today are actively promoting the spread of COVID rather than engaging with our ongoing efforts to halt and reduce the virus’ spread.

For example, we’ve known for years that cleaning the indoor air by introducing higher ventilation standards and HEPA filtration standards would drastically reduce airborne illness. There’s a new technology called Far UVC that inactivates viral pathogens in the air. Combining these two could be a game changer- drastically reducing how much we all get sick. Yet no matter how much we bring up this idea- and no matter how often and how seriously their children get sick- people seem to prefer getting sick than breaking from The Borg.

And The Borg, to be clear, is approximately where the show goes next.

I hope I am wrong and that this is over soon :-)

                                                              • I miss the sinigang at Symphonie Filipino Restaurant :-)

I bet Emily and Ed are enjoying their retirement :-) !!!!

                                                              • When will flickr's API and embeds die or break? Probably wrong guess: 2030 or earlier :-)

Nothing against the fine folks at flickr. It's just capitalism, enshittification, whatever you want to call it.
